Accepting these terms

By downloading and using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

These terms are read together with the Privacy Policy at https://vocabularyforest.com/pages/privacy-policy.html; the two form a single agreement.

What the service is

Vocabulary Forest is a mobile app that ties vocabulary learning to a living forest. Studying words earns you rain points; spending them brings rain to your forest and restores its land health. If you stay away too long, land health drops, plants begin to wither, and the forest heads towards drought.

You can name the animals, plants, and sculptures you earn, and move them wherever you like. Adventure mode brings word battles, and there are quests, a daily wheel, and a market to spend gold and diamonds in.

The service is cloud-based: your progress and your forest are stored against your account and synced across the devices you sign in on. Some parts of the app need an internet connection.

The app is a learning tool. It does not guarantee a particular exam score, certification, or rate of progress.

Accounts and your responsibility

You must be at least 13 to create an account on your own. If the digital consent age where you live is higher, which in parts of Europe means up to 16, a parent or guardian must consent to the account being created.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give when registering, and for keeping your sign-in details private. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.

If you notice your account being used without your permission, write to info@vocabularyforest.com straight away.

One person, one account. Selling, transferring, or sharing your account breaches these terms.

Acceptable use

A short list of what you must not do while using the app:

Reverse-engineer the app, attempt to obtain its source code, or distribute a modified version of it
Alter rain points, gold, diamonds, quests, or wheel results using cheat tools, automation, or data tampering
Flood our servers with automated requests or otherwise degrade or disrupt the service
Attempt to access anyone else's account
Use insults, hate speech, obscenity, or anything infringing another person's rights in the names you give to your assets or in what you send us
Copy in-app content without permission and use it in another product or for commercial purposes
Use the app for any purpose that breaks applicable law

If these rules are broken we may suspend your account, and close it where the breach is serious or repeated.

In-app purchases

Some content, such as gold, diamonds, and market items, may be offered for a price. Prices are shown clearly in the store before you buy.

All payments go through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect, store, or see your payment details.

Once a purchase completes, the content is credited to your account. If it has not appeared after a few minutes, restart the app; if it still has not, get in touch using the steps at https://vocabularyforest.com/pages/support.html.

If you buy a subscription product, it renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel. You cancel from the account settings of the store you bought it in.

Refunds

Refunds for in-app purchases are governed by the rules of the store where the purchase was made. Since we never take the payment, we cannot issue the refund directly either.

On iOS you start a refund through Apple's own refund request form; on Android you start it from the order history in your Google Play account. The store makes the decision.

Your withdrawal and refund rights under Turkish and EU consumer law remain unaffected. The scope of the right of withdrawal for digital content varies by jurisdiction; if a store declines your request and you believe it was wrong to, write to info@vocabularyforest.com and we will help you pursue it.

Where a refund is granted, the content it relates to is removed from your account.

Deleting your account does not refund unused gold, diamonds, or market items.

Gold, diamonds, and virtual items

Gold and diamonds are not real money. They represent a limited, personal licence to use certain features inside the app.

Virtual currency and items cannot be exchanged for real money, transferred to another user, sold, or used in any way outside the app, and they hold no value there.

You do not acquire ownership of your balance. When your account closes or the service ends, the balance ends with it.

To keep the game balanced we may occasionally adjust quest rewards, wheel odds, and market prices. Such changes never take away content you have already purchased.

Intellectual property

All artwork, illustrations, characters, animations, audio, text, word lists, interface design, and software code in the app and on the website belong to [şirket unvanı — eklenecek] and are protected by copyright.

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. That licence does not give you the right to copy, distribute, adapt, or create derivative works from our content.

The Vocabulary Forest name, its logo, and the visual identity of the forest world are our trademarks and may not be used without our written permission.

If you would like to use our artwork for press, a review, or a collaboration, write to info@vocabularyforest.com; we are usually happy to say yes.

Content you create

The names you give the animals, plants, and sculptures in your forest, along with any feedback you send us, are your content.

You give us permission to use that content in order to provide the service to you, meaning to store your forest, sync it across your devices, and show it back to you. We claim no rights beyond that.

The names you choose must not infringe anyone else's rights and must not contain insults, hate speech, or obscenity. We may remove content that does.

If you send us a feature suggestion of your own accord, we may act on it without owing you a payment for it.

Changes to the service

We are still building this app. Features may be added, changed, or removed.

If we have to retire a feature permanently, we will give notice where we can and offer a way to keep the progress you already made.

Maintenance, updates, or technical faults may cause temporary interruptions. We try to announce planned maintenance in advance.

If we ever have to shut the service down entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice and a reasonable window in which to export your data.

Ending your account

You can close your account whenever you like. The steps are at https://vocabularyforest.com/pages/delete-account.html.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously breach these terms, attempt fraudulent purchases, or harm other users. Where possible we will warn you first.

When an account closes, your forest, your progress, and your virtual balance end with it. The details of deletion, including which records we must keep for legal reasons, are listed on the account deletion page.

Disclaimer

We build the app with as much care as we can, but we provide the service as it is.

We cannot guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, entirely free of bugs, or identical in performance on every device.

Nothing in this section affects the rights consumer law gives you that cannot be limited by contract.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, lost data, or failure to reach an expected learning outcome.

In any event, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These limits do not apply to our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or where mandatory consumer law says otherwise.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.

The courts and enforcement offices at the seat of [şirket unvanı — eklenecek] have jurisdiction over disputes.

If you are acting as a consumer, you keep the right to apply to the consumer arbitration committee or consumer court where you live. If you reside in the European Union, you continue to enjoy the protection of your own country's consumer law.

Updates to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives at https://vocabularyforest.com/pages/terms-of-service.html with its last-updated date at the top.

For significant changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.

Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
